Helen graduated from the College of Naturopathic Medicine after a hugely rewarding 3 years of intense study and clinical experience. The College of Naturopathic Medicine is one of the UK’s largest, most highly-respected and well-known natural-medicine training providers.

Prior to the birth of her son, Helen worked as a teacher for 10 years and then as an Education Consultant for a further 5 years.  Her passion is in helping people to improve the quality of their health through educating them about food and the potential impact of lifestyle changes.

Helen uses a Functional Medicine approach to address the underlying causes of disease. This means that the approach focuses on being client-centred rather than disease-centred, therefore addressing the whole person and not just a list of symptoms.

During a consultation, Helen will spend time looking into the history of the client and will look into potential genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and chronic disease.

Getting to the root of symptoms is crucial, so Helen regularly uses Functional testing with clients to clearly identify imbalances, nutrient deficiencies or pathogens which may be contributing to an individual’s ill-health.

Helen regularly attends Nutrition conferences and seminars as part of the on-going training required to keep up to date with ever-developing nutrition research, studies and therapies. This is also a requirement of her membership of the British Association for Applied Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

As well as seeing her own clients, Helen is a qualified Clinical Supervisor for undergraduate clinics with the College of Naturopathic Medicine.
